Wish they had these when I was a kid October 19, 2008 C. Sonu (Alamo, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this kart for my 8 year old 60 pound daredevil daughter. She loves control and speed. She races the boys on the street on a slalom course and everyone has fun. We have modified the kart slightly. The turning radius was large when we received it. It could barely U-turn on narrow streets. I cut the steering locks off with a hacksaw and file. It now turns with less than a 5 foot radius and is more responsive. Brakes needed adjustment for her small hands. The battery seems ok. She said she'll never get tired of his toy, even after having it for a month.
Lots of fun for my 8 yr. old boy (not for grass though) October 10, 2008 DefyGravity (Houston, TX) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son has had a blast with this go-cart. It does great spins and goes at a nice speed. We also have the Red Razor electric scooter and I'd say the speed is pretty close. The go-cart does go a bit faster. It isn't great on rocky driveways or on grass, so make sure you have sufficient driveway space if you get it. I don't allow him to drive on the road with it because I am worried about it being rather low and perhaps drivers would not see him. If I'm on my bike or 4 wheeler I'll ride beside him on our small neighborhood road, but 98% of the time it's for our patio and driveway. I'd recommend it for those who can handle steering and wide turn and perceptions for making those turns. Lots of fun. Pretty easy to assemble. Make sure you charge it just like the instructions say. Warn your child before he gets it that he can't expect to ride it right out of the box. It's a long 10 hrs. for them otherwise. Good luck and enjoy! By the way, these were about $50 more at stores here in town so I was happy to get it here on amazon.
Pleased September 19, 2008 D. Gibbons (Lexington, KY) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My six year old loves this go-kart. I just wish that it had a better turn ratio. You can only get a quarter of a turn on this. I thank thats a small set back to the product. Other than that we are very satisfied.
Bad turning radius August 13, 2008 E. Moody (Kentucky) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My boys (ages 7 and 9)love this go-kart. We have had it about a month and they ride it all the time. My only complaint is the turning radius. They can barely turn around in the road. Most of the time they have to get off and manually pick the front end of the go-kart up and move it.
Great Fun --but exercise care with younder riders! July 7, 2008 M. Tran (Garden Grove, CA) Just got the Ground Force over the July 4th weekend for 8 year old daughter who had a blast friving it. But she got over-confident and kept taking the curves faster and faster until...she got panicked and banged into the rear of a minivan. Luckly she wasn't hurt...but she was definitely shaken up. Please exercise care when letting children less than 10 year ride this fast machine. Razor needs to improve the design of the steeing mechanism. The initial free play (and lacks of steering result) may prompt for too much more muscle input that coult lead to abrupt oversteer. The hand brake position forces the wrist to turn in, rendering the brake almost unsqueezable. In summary -- a super fun toy for older kids that can become much safer with better steering and brake redesign.
