Pretty but not that convenient July 10, 2008 Cidala M. Sarro (East Newark, NJ United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was looking to purchase a new stroller for my 2yr. old granddaughter and I came across this one, just one look and I loved it, I was instantly attracted to it and read the reviews and thought it was perfect for Brooklynn. I previously owned a Maclaren and was looking for basically the same thing (lightweight and easy to manage). I personally beleive the Maclaren is alot lighter and easier to manuver. The Monarch is kind of heavy and it's kind of hard to close with one hand. One good thing about this one is that it goes back when the children are sleeping and the canopy is extended but it's a pain to lift up also, it's only a string but it looks good (which is not that important i've learned.
Overall a good buy July 1, 2008 K. Kerrigan (Charotte, NC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I did a lot of research before deciding on this stroller. Everyone compares it to the MacLaren, but I really think that the MacLaren looks cheap next to Baby Planet. The seat looks more comfortable, and the leg extension is a far more durable design. I had some reservations about buying a stroller without testing it, but this has proven to be a well made product. It's lightweight and handles well. If you've read a lot of reviews, you know about the frame going through the storage basket. I haven't found this to be a problem. My one complaint is specifically with the Snow Leopard canopy: it's a soft plush fabric, almost like brushed velour. I'm not sure how it will hold up when wet, and on a personal note, it's a little over the top for me. If I had seen it in person, I probably would have chosen a different Baby Planet stroller. However, I don't feel that it's so horrible that I needed to return it, and I'm certainly not embarrassed by it. On a positive note, the canopy can close completely over the passenger, making a little tent. Overall, It gets high marks. Oh, and if you're worried that it doesn't have a tray or child cup holder, go to One Step Ahead and order the universal stroller tray.
Amazing stroller for a great price June 24, 2008 M. Libertini (Brooklyn, NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received my lemur stroller today and took it for a spin with both of my boys. My preemie son, who now weighs 8 bs, was super comfortable in this stroller, unlike his infant car seat & Snap-n-go. My two year old, who weighs 31 lbs however...whew! It was truly a workout when I pushed him and my diaper bag along with it. However, the stroller maneuvers lovely. The design of the stroller turned so many heads, even those who had Bugaboos with them! I researched A LOT of strollers and am very happy with the recline on this stroller, the easy of opening and closing the stroller, the sun shade/canopy is superb covering both of my boys, the basket, while not big, was adequately sized for an umbrella stroller. While I wouldn't say this stroller is light at 17 lbs, it's only 3lbs heavier than the Mac Techno, yet at least $100 cheaper in cost. I'd highly recommend this stroller to a first time parent and wish I had gotten it sooner so I could've used it with my toddler when he was younger.
Fantastic Stroller with Everything I Want June 2, 2008 31u3b1rd 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My husband and I looked at a million strollers at Babies-R-Us and none of them had all the features we wanted. We wanted a stroller that was high quality (like a Maclaren), stylish, light-weight, with decent storage, and a CUP HOLDER. None of the lightweight strollers we looked at seemed to have a decent cup holder. Just because I don't want a mammoth stroller doesn't mean I don't like to have a soda or latte while out and about. Anyway, you get all of these features with the Monarch stroller. The stroller is sturdy, light-weight, was easy to put together, fits nicely in our compact car, is easy to open and close. Plus, it has a cute fabric butterfly that is perched on top of the canopy (you can't see it in the photo here). It made me smile when I opened the box! The stroller comes with one cup holder, but you can get another from Baby Planet for $1.50 on the phone if you want two. The cup holder is also made from very sturdy plastic. There IS a big metal X at the bottom that prevents putting very large items in the bottom basket, and ours did somehow get dinged by something heavy we must have put on top of the stroller, but this hasn't caused problems for us. We have a sherpani diaper bag and it fits in from the back, and then I can shove smaller things in from the front and sides (the basket is accessible from all sides). I don't find that I use this feature a lot though. The diaper bag is usually all I have down there. The stroller has a pouch for keys, cell phone, etc. behind the canopy and my purse hangs from the handlebars without causing the stroller to tip (even without my daughter in the stroller). The wheels are pretty good on the surfaces we've used it on--at the mall, on the street, sidewalks, and also on paths at the park, which can be rougher. I expect the stroller to hold up over the years--the fabric is very heavy-duty, but soft (like the kind you'd find in a car), and the metal frame construction is sturdy. My daughter seems to enjoy being in the stroller and she likes the bright colors and contrast. The stroller is comfortable to push. I can manipulate it easily with one hand (with my daughter in it) when holding other things with my other hand. I would recommend the stroller to friends without hesitation. Not only because it is a fantastic stroller, but because it is also priced very reasonably. I would expect to pay a lot more for a stroller of this quality. It is much nicer than similar Peg Peregos and Maclarens we saw at Babies-R-Us and it cost less.
love it! May 7, 2008 A. DD (Glen Ellyn, IL USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
love the stroller. the design is amazing and everyone says that the "X" is in the way for the basket. It is, but the MaClaren's basket is above the X, so this way makes the basket smaller. The baby Planet basket is bigger cause they put it below the X...it has to be there in order to fold up the stoller compact. I love this design and were all happy with it.
