3 out of 5 stars Water does not last all night   December 28, 2008

The container does not hold enough water to last all night. Every morning when I wake up it is empty. It says 2.5 galon but I don't think so.

4 out of 5 stars Worked very well for 2 years   December 22, 2008

My wife and I bought this humidifier 2 years ago. We noticed our throats were getting dry in winter at night. We noticed an immediate difference. Whenever we forgot to turn it on, we noticed sore throats the next day. I truly believe this kept us from getting sick on more than one occasion.

It holds less water than the Amazon description would lead you to expect. It will run about 7 hours on high and 12 on low. It is enough for one large, open room but not a house. We switched it back and forth from our room to our daughter's. The steam would only be able to hurt her if she held her face right on the vent for a few seconds. I did notice this model got very hot underneath, but it never seemed to damage the floor.

Sadly just yesterday it stopped working after a little more than two years. I took it apart, and it doesn't look like something I can fix. But still, you know it's not a piece of junk. It will last you a few years, and it's not that expensive. I am looking for a larger version of the same thing by the same company so we don't have to change the water twice a day.

4 out of 5 stars Good humidifier   December 16, 2008

This is the third humidifier we have tried and we like it the best. The tank is a little small so you have to refill probably two to three times a day if you run it non stop but overall very satisfied. Easy to fill and clean and make no noise.

3 out of 5 stars Too small for all night use.   December 10, 2008

THe first thing odd is that I waited almost 3 weeks for delivery of this item. This is a first for merchandise ordered on Amazon.Com. I am spoiled I guess with the fast arrival of most stuff....almost instant gratification. Then I realized it is quite small and runs out of water before a full evening and nighttime in my bedroom. I was a bit surprised because it doesn't look small in the ad and holds less water than indicated...
Now, after 10 days I can't get it to produce steam at all although the light comes on...So I should have purchased a larger more expensive humidifier.

5 out of 5 stars Great humidifier doesn't require filters   February 24, 2008

I used to buy more expensive humidifiers that required replacement filters that cost essentially as much as this humidifier. This one puts out a warm mist with no white dust. I rinse the water dish with vinegar once a week, wipe it down and it's clean. I have a two-story house with a furnace humidifier, but I still run two of these humidifiers on low 24/7 in winter. We never have sore throats or colds. The money we save on cough drops and cold meds and doctor visits more than pays for these humidifiers.
