Product Description
The safety of your baby is one of your top priorities. When it comes to protection from accidental tumbles, you can put your mind at ease with Evenflo's new Top-of-Stair Gate. The new Evenflo Top-of-Stair Plus Gate is made taller and wider for more protection! Its four-point hardware mount combined with swing control provides one of the most secure top-of-stair mountings. The gate will swing right, left, or 180-degrees depending on how you set it. Great for pets, too!

4 out of 5 stars This gate works great   December 28, 2008
D. Freiberg (Madison, WI USA)
I love how easy this gate is to remove from its mounting bracket so it's not in the way when I'm moving things up and down the stairs. It locks securely, is easy to install and keeps even my older kids from opening it. The swing control is barely enough to stop it from destroying your wall, so don't expect much more from that feature. All-in-all, it's well worth the price.

5 out of 5 stars great product for price   October 31, 2008

This gate works very well at the top of the stairs. Our problem is not with the gate, it's with our stairwell. The top of our stairs is uneven due to the molding on the walls. We had to add wooden shims to make the wall even with the molding in order to install the gate. Once installed, however, the gate is nice and secure. There's no need to spend the extra money on any of the other top of the stair gates. I would definitely recommend this product.

4 out of 5 stars It works.   October 28, 2008

It works as it is supposed to. It is a simple gate with nothing fancy but it works.
My son is less than one year but he can shake it. sometimes I am afraid that he will shake it down. The gate does not seem very sturdy. That is why I gave it a four star.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good for the price   October 11, 2008

The gate was easy to install, and does the job. My only complaint is that it is a little flimsy. Also, you can pull the whole thing up if you lift hard enough. It takes a little practice to open it. I would recommend it as long as you don't have a little one that wants to swing on it!!

4 out of 5 stars Not the easiest to mount, but works great once installed   September 25, 2008

This gate works great once installed. I like the wide range of gate widths without any extender pieces. There are a couple of things to watch out for during mounting though. The template they give you for the hinge side specifies a distance from the floor, but if you have moldings the flange on the latch side will determine how close to the floor it can go. The other thing that got me was the sag in the gate when extended. I'd recommend mounting the bottom bracket on both sides first, then see where the upper brackets want to go.
