My granddaughter will not go down without it! December 28, 2008

My granddaughter received a Little Giraffe blanket as a gift at her birth (along with a couple others). She immediately bonded to the Little Giraffe blanket. Within a couple of months, she would not settle down to sleep without "her blanket". She is now 18 months old, and throws any other blanket out of her crib. Her mother has to litteraly talk her out of the blanket to even wash it. I ended up buying her another blanket for her home and one for my house, just so she would never "be without". I know that it is not unusual for children to bond with their "blankees", but she knew the difference even when she was just a few weeks old.
The quality and softness of the fabric is like none I have seen before. This blanket has held up to use and abuse without any sign of damage. The only thing is that it has faded and the texture is softer.
I would definately suggest you buy two blankets to start with and rotate them so that there is no difference between the two; it will make life easier as your child/grandchild grows older. I can't imagine how my granddaughter would react if this blanket were lost or damaged so that it could not be used. I can tell you that I looked far and wide to find a second blanket as the first one was aging;I was pleasantly surprised to find it on Amazon.com after not finding it in any local stores.

This type of blanket is my daughter's favorite and can't live without them in her hand or in her mouth. The product arrived quickly and was wrapped nicely. Good experience overall.

My newborn daughter got this blanket as a gift and when I found out how much it cost I was reluctant to use it for fear of destroying it (and I have a white one). Somehow it made it into her crib and now it is her special blanket. This thing washes very well and I am not very delicate with my laundry. With a little stain remover I have been able to get out anything from spit-up to poop (remember this is a WHITE blanket too). It is incredibly soft and snuggly, she just loves to curl up with it. I often think about getting a second as backup. This blanket is well worth the $$$.

I received this as a gift and now it is the gift that I send to my pregnant friends. It's pricey, but it will be the blanket that is saved forever not thrown out at the end of the first year.
