I admit I was skeptical when this jacket first arrived. It seemed so thin compaired to the bluky coat my son had been wearing. It's been about a month now, with some pretty cold temps and he assures me he's nice and warm. The hood is just a shell, but he wears a hat underneath it. It has great mobility. And the inner fleece jacket will be useful for cooler tempts. It's very light weight and warm. He loves it and therefore so do I
